The Beijing Key Laboratory on High Temperature Superconductor Materials and Application Technology was established in 2011, and the sponsor is the Innova Superconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (InnoST). Currently, the laboratory holds the following 4 research areas:

From the establishment, the laboratory proves its contribution to the development of high temperature superconductor materials and application technology by taking part in a number of state research projects on various aspects, such as the Bi-series HTS wires, the HTS fault current limiters, the HTS railway traction transformers and HTS power cables, as well as supplying part of the HTS wires in various dormitory and international research projects, including ITER.
In the following 3-5 years, the targets of the laboratory are: Further improving the cost performance of the practical HTS materials. Accomplish the targets in HTS applications research projects, such as a 6.6MW HTS railway traction transformer prototype. Apply for more demonstrations and application extensions on various aspects, such as the new energy, electrical power, transport and scientific researches. And contribute to the industrialization of the HTS material and application technology.
